The Year That Was

The penultimate working week before the holiday break.

Over the last year, we have seen, heard, and reported on the various office, industrial, and alternative markets in which we operate. Last week’s CREview outlined some of our general observations for 2024.

Of course, technology and the workplace play a huge role in what we do, as they are intertwined with the markets in which our tenant clients are housed.

Covid was the catalyst for corporates to fast-track working from anywhere, and to upgrade their software/hardware accordingly. We prefer “anywhere” to remote purely because working in a metropolitan area is not remote. Go for a drive to Mungo National Park or the Pink Lakes near Underbool and feel the real beauty of remoteness.

This technological evolution continues and of course, AI is the next revolution. 2024 came with a lot of talk.

Workplace, in all its various shapes and sizes, has been one of the most discussed, written about, and debated issues in corporate real estate this year. That’s because we have seen how its changes have affected the markets, employers, and employees. We have also seen the significant effect technology has had, and how it has shaped today’s workplace as we know it.

Every CRE tenant is completely different and that is because each one has its own unique culture and way of working. Therefore one size does not fit all.

Now, back to wrapping up work and presents before the end of next week.
